If I had to describe the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in one word, it would be: "Meh."


This is the first Revlon lippie product I've come across that I don't really love that much. I had such high hopes for it though because it seemed like it was always raved about on Youtube and in the blogosphere.

I got the shade Darling because I am a big fan of purpley/plumy lip products. I can't get enough of them, so I knew that Darling was the one I wanted to try.

The packaging is so cute and seems heavy duty, so that was a plus in my book. It has a twist-up mechanism that I really like. But then I rolled up the tube and...


The product doesn't even take up half of the tube! They might as well have put it in a regular lipstick tube, because with not even half the product in the tube, the packing just seems a bit... unnecessary.

I swiped the crayon onto my lips and it was VERY sheer. I knew that the product was going to be sheer, but I didn't know that it was THAT sheer. To get any real color out of it, I had to put the crayon in between both of my lips, close them, and swipe back and forth. The moment you near the crayon to your nose, you can smell it's strong peppermint scent and it gives your lips this cooling/tingling sensation that I don't mind so much. But it's not a smell that I really notice throughout the day, however the tingling sensation stays for a while. I think that this tingling sensation may contribute to why I've read a lot of reviews where people have experienced their lips thirsting for moisture and complaining of it being too dry. To me, it's not that it's drying, it's that the constant tingling feeling makes it seem like it's drying your lips out when it's actually not. Also, it's not a good idea to lick your lips because the tingling sensation will carry on to your tongue, which I hated. My tongue felt so numb.

I was pretty pleased with the color that I got out of it, even though it took me A LOT of swiping. Unfortunately, the intial color starts wearing down to a toned-down version of it in about... oh, 10 minutes. Because it's a balm stain, I knew that it would eventually dry and the color would stain my lips. Much to my dismay... it doesn't even stain my lips the same color as the initial color. When I put it on, it was a lavendary-pink color. After about 1 hour or so, my lips were stained a reddish pink color. Almost like I just got finished making out with someone (a look I actually like, but I bet there are other lip products that could achieve this effect better than the Revlon Balm Stains). And the stain wasn't even that noticeable. It literally looked like nothing was on my lips. So disappointed.
