Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer Review

Wow, that name's a mouthful! So I've been in the search of a new highlighting concealer for under my eyes because I'm running out of the one I already have. The skin under my eyes in a bit dry, so I've been trying to search for a concealer that will moisturize my under eye area, while still covering my dark circles and highlighting the area. Of course, I went to my usual place to find recommendations: YouTube. After browsing many beauty guru videos, I settled on trying Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer.

I headed out to CVS and found all the shades there. I was a bit unsure of what shade to get, but then I noticed that every shade, but one had a "pink undertone" to it. I have warm, yellow undertoned skin, so I knew that these shades wouldn't look very good on me because of the cool tones. So I settled for the only warm shade that was available "Neutralizer."

The concealer has a sponge applicator, which I honestly don't mind too much. It has a "twist-up" function, so the concealer seeps through the sponge (It initially took me SO many clicks to get the concealer to rise up. I thought I had a defected one for a moment). It claims to: instantly erase dark circles and fine lines and too visibly diminish puffiness. It also comes with 6.0 ml of product, which is actually surprisingly nearly 1 ml less than what comes in Maybelline's Fit Me Concealer containing 6.8 ml of product (I actually love the Fit Me concealer's formula but the color selection is so deplorable that I had to find another concealer that better matched me) even though it doesn't look like it.

So now down to business. The shade actually ended up being a little too light for me, but when blended in more with the foundation, it looked fine. But I would suggest Maybelline make more warm shades. But besides that, I have to say... I don't really like this concealer. I think I actually might return it. Like I said, the area under my eyes is dry and this concealer isn't very moisturizing at all. If you like a matte finish and you don't have a problem with dry under eye skin, than you may like this. But for me, it's a pass. This concealer dries extremely quickly. Quicker than any concealer I have ever soon, so when you apply, you immediately want to start working it into the skin. From far away, this concealer looked fine on me. But up close, it just accentuated my dry under eye skin.

Bottom Line: It's a pass for me. This concealer accentuates my dry under eye skin way too much. It isn't moisturizing enough for my liking. But if you don't have a problem with dry under eye skin, looking for a matte look, or have oily skin than maybe this concealer is for you. As for me, I will be returning it to CVS.
