  • My Review:
As I stated above, I love this palette, but let me go a little into more detail. ABH Modern Renaissance is one is my favorite eyeshadow palettes of all time. I find the formula to be one of my favorites, as far as eyeshadows go. The UD Born To Run eye shadows, remind me sooooo much of the formula for Modern Renaissance. The shadows blend so smoothly together. It feels like velvet. I find that the shimmer shades are so strong, you don't really need to wet them either.

With all that being said, I have one problem with this palette... the black shade "Jet." I tried using this shade with a look, and I couldn't for the life of me get it to show up as pigmented as I wanted. I kept layering and layering it, and it still wasn't doing the job. It just wasn't "sticking." Then I decided to experiment and see how it would apply on my eye just by itself. It showed up MUCH better. But... what's the point of having a shade that doesn't work well with the other eye shadows in the same palette? Furthermore, I tend to do a lot of "patting" motions when doing eye shadow, but for this shade in particular, I found that it's better to using "swiping" motions.

I experienced no other issues with any of the other shades. All of them, minus "Jet," applied just fine. But the shades that I feel definitely are the "stars" in this palette are:

  • STRANDED
  • BLAZE
  • RIFF
  • BAJA
  • IGNITE
  • WANDERLUST
  • DOUBLE LIFE
  • RADIO
  • BIG SKY
